How long a bar lasts once it's in your shower depends almost entirely on how it's stored between uses. A bar left sitting in a puddle of water will dissolve far faster than one kept on a draining soap dish.

Three Ways to Make a Bar Last Longer

• Use a soap dish with drainage slots, not a flat dish
• Let the bar air-dry fully between uses rather than leaving it in the shower stream
